The 2018 Session of the Washington State Legislature has started. Bills are being introduced and hearings are being scheduled that affect our agenda. Of particular importance this week is the school breakfast bill.

Breakfast After the Bell Bill
There are two bills in the Legislature that would ensure students a healthy start to their day with school breakfast. While some technical fixes are needed, the key is to ensure the bills move through process. House Bill 1508, which passed the House which passed the House today and moves on to the Senate.  Senate Bill 6003 was just recently introduced and will receive a hearing before the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Committee at 1:30, Thursday, January 11.
